Description
MR. JO Marblewrap – P is a two-part, thick, solvent-free epoxy system. It has a bright super white color and is easy to apply. Moreover, it is ideal for repairing and reinforcing large marble or stone blocks. You can use it during processing for strong, lasting results. Additionally, it provides excellent bonding and reduces material loss. Therefore, it is a smart choice for stone industries.
- Color: Bright White
- Pot life @25°C: 75-85 mins
- Mixing Ratio: 100:100 PBW
- Mixture consistency: Thixotropic
- Optics: Opaque
- Block reinforcement
- Backing
- Glass fiber binding agent
- The mixture should be applied on a clean, rough and dry surface. For good results, it is required that the marble surface is clean, and dry. This should be achieved by suitable mechanical means such as sandblasting or wire brushing.
- Use Part A & Part B in ratio 100:100 PBW. Mix the two components in small batches thoroughly for at least 2 minutes..
- Apply the mix on the prepared substrate directly or using proper spatula.
- When applying glass cloth or carbon fiber, place the fiber/cloth on the surface where putty has been applied. Apply an over coat to impregnate the glass cloth/carbon fiber with a spatula.
A1. These are thixotropic epoxy adhesives designed to wrap and reinforce marble or stone blocks using fiberglass cloth before slicing. The system enhances block integrity during sawing and reduces breakage.
Q2. What is the difference between MR. JO MarbleWrap and MR. JO MarbleWrap-P?A2.
- MarbleWrap: Standard color version
- MarbleWrap-P: Bright white variant, preferred for lighter or white stones for visual consistency and finish quality
A3. Both are mixed in a 100:100 ratio by weight. The resin and hardener must be blended thoroughly to a uniform paste before application.
Q4. Are these products comparable to other known brands?A4. Functionally, yes — they match leading international products used in marble block reinforcement. However, MR. JO MarbleWrap products are formulated for easier application, reduced sagging, and better visual finish.
Q5. Why is thixotropy important here?A5. A non-sag thixotropic texture allows:
- Easy application on vertical surfaces
- Strong bonding to the marble face and glass cloth
- Uniform curing without run-off or dripping
A6.
- Mix Resin and Hardener (100:100) thoroughly
- Apply an even layer to the side of the marble block
- Place glass cloth over the wet adhesive
- Apply another layer of MarbleWrap over the cloth
- Allow to cure before the block is sliced
A7. Around 40–60 minutes at 25°C, depending on ambient temperature and batch size.
Q8. How long does it take to cure before slicing?A8. Typically 6–8 hours for handling strength, full cure in 24 hours. For best results, allow overnight curing before sawing.
Q9. Can it be used with other reinforcement fabrics besides fiberglass?A9. Fiberglass is standard, but compatible nonwoven polyester or mesh cloth can be tested for specific applications. Ensure strong bond with both adhesive and stone.
Q10. Can MR. JO MarbleWrap be tinted or pigmented?A10. MarbleWrap P is pre-matched bright white, while standard MR. JO MarbleWrap is neutral. Toning is not typically required, but minor pigment adjustments may be done with compatible epoxy-safe pastes if needed.
Q11. Is it suitable only for marble or also for other stones?A11. It works well on marble, onyx, travertine, and soft limestones. Can also be tried on sandstone and semi-porous stones needing extra reinforcement.
Q12. How should mixed product leftovers be handled?A12. Once mixed, use completely. Do not store or reuse hardened material. Avoid mixing large batches unless immediately needed.
Q13. What is the shelf life and storage recommendation?A13. Store in tightly sealed containers in a cool, dry place (15–25°C). Shelf life is 12 months if stored properly.
Q14. Can I machine or polish over the wrap after slicing?A14. Yes — once cured, the product cuts cleanly and does not gum up blades, allowing clean polishing and surface treatment of slabs.
