Description
Mr. JO Tecbond – GSN is a strong epoxy adhesive. It comes in two parts and is solvent free. It works well on metals, plastics, and various other materials, making it perfect for industrial and engineering work. In addition, it is very strong and reliable. It sticks well and is long lasting, even in tough conditions. The product has an excellent pot life of 120-150 minutes at 25°C
. Moreover, it resists chemicals and lasts a long time. Therefore, it is great for manufacturing, construction, and household. Whether you need it to bond metal, plastic, or other materials, Mr. JO Tecbond – GSN gives you a strong and lasting solution for multi purpose applications.
- Color: Yellow
- Pot life @25°C: 120-150 mins
- Mixing Ratio: 100:80PBW
- Mixture consistency: Thick liquid
- Optics: Transparent/Translucent
- Sealing of joints
- Fixing diaphragms and magnet to the base of speakers tier
- Adhesive in bangles and brassware handicrafts
- The mixture should be applied on a clean, rough and dry surface. This should be achieved by suitable mechanical and chemical means such as sandblasting Wire brushing or chemical etching. Suitable degreasing agent should be used to remove any grease, or oil traces on the surface.
- Use Part A & Part B in ratio 100:80 pbw. Mix the two components in small batches thoroughly for at least 2minutes. Apply the mix directly or using proper spatula to the pretreated surfaces.
- The joint components should be assembled as soon as the adhesive has been applied.
- Allow the material to cure for at least 24 hours before putting to use.
A1. Both are general-purpose epoxy adhesives used for bonding metals, plastics, wood, ceramics, and composites. They are ideal for:
- Component assembly
- Automotive and electrical bonding
- Handicrafts and fixtures
- General maintenance and repair tasks Their longer pot life makes them well-suited for larger or more complex applications.
- GS and PS are standard pot life adhesives (~30–40 mins).
- GSN and GSE are based on similar chemistry but offer extended working times (45–75 minutes) for better control during assembly or bonding of large surfaces.
- GSE typically offers the longest pot life among the range. Q3. Why would I choose MR. JO Tecbond-GSN or GSE instead of MR. JO Tecbond-GS or PS?
A3. Choose GSN or GSE when you:
- Need more open time for aligning, adjusting, or spreading adhesive
- Are working in warm climates where faster pot life adhesives set too quickly
- Are bonding larger or multiple parts simultaneously
A4. They are slightly higher in cost than PS but more cost-effective than some specialty slow-cure epoxies, offering an excellent balance of pot life, strength, and price.
Q5. What is the pot life of these adhesives? A5.- GSN: ~45–60 minutes at 25°C
- GSE: ~60–75 minutes at 25°C Actual pot life may vary based on temperature, mix volume, and application thickness.
A6. Mix 100 parts resin to 80 parts hardener by weight (100:80 PBW). Ensure the mix is thorough and uniform before applying.
Q7. Can I use these adhesives for vertical applications?A7. They are medium-viscosity and may sag slightly on vertical surfaces. For vertical or overhead use, consider a non-sag version like MR. JO Tecbond-NS, NSF, or X.
Q8. What types of substrates are suitable?A8. These adhesives bond well with:
- Metal (steel, aluminum, copper)
- Wood and engineered boards
- Stone, marble, ceramics
- Plastic and composite materials
- Initial set: 4–6 hours
- Full cure: 24 hours at room temperature Can be accelerated by warm curing if needed.
A10. Both cure to a hard, opaque finish (often greyish or beige depending on batch). They are machinable, paintable, and suitable for sanding.
Q11. Are these adhesives water-resistant?A11. Yes. Once cured, they form a moisture-resistant, chemically stable bond suitable for most indoor and semi-industrial environments.
