  • Concrete core cutting
Surface Preparation
  • The mixture should be applied on a clean, rough and dry surface. This should be achieved by suitable mechanical and chemical means such as sandblasting Wire brushing or chemical etching. Suitable degreasing agent should be used to remove any grease, or oil traces on the surface.
Application Method
  • Use Part A & Part B in ratio 100:80 pbw. Mix the two components in small batches thoroughly for at least 2minutes. Apply the mix directly or using proper spatula to the pretreated surfaces.
  • The joint components should be assembled as soon as the adhesive has been applied.
  • Allow the material to cure for at least 24 hours before putting to use.
Q1. What is MR. JO Tecbond – IW used for?

A1. MR. JO Tecbond – IW is a semi-flowable, surface-wetting epoxy adhesive ideal for sealing, bonding, and gap-filling in plumbing, construction, and textile reed manufacturing. It is especially popular for sealing core-cut openings in concrete after pipe laying, preventing water leakage.

Q2. How is it different from MR. JO Tecbond – OPK?

A2. While both are general-purpose epoxy pastes:

  • IW offers improved surface wetting, making it better at bonding rough or porous surfaces like concrete.
  • IW has slightly lower viscosity than OPK, making it more workable for spreadable or coverage-based applications.
Q3. What industries commonly use MR. JO Tecbond-IW?

A3.

  • Plumbers use it to seal concrete openings after laying drainage or utility pipes.
  • Textile reed manufacturers use it where a more flowable, lower-viscosity adhesive is preferred over OPK.
  • It’s also used in civil maintenance, flooring patch-ups, and assembly work.
Q4. What color does IW come in?

A4. The standard color is natural beige, but custom shades (grey, milky white, blue, etc.) are available for bulk orders with a minimum order quantity (MOQ).

Q5. What is the mixing ratio and pot life?

A5. Mix Part A and Part B in a 100:80 weight ratio. Pot life is approximately 60–75 minutes at 25°C, depending on ambient conditions.

Q6. Can IW be used on slightly porous surfaces?

A6. Yes. One of IW’s key advantages is its improved wetting behavior, which allows it to bond well to rough, or porous surfaces like concrete or cement plaster.

Q8. What kind of surface preparation is needed?

A8. Clean the surface to remove dust, oil, or debris. For concrete, roughening the surface slightly helps. For metal or other smooth materials, light sanding is recommended for improved grip.

Q9. How long does it take to cure?

A9. It sets in 3–4 hours, depending on application thickness and temperature. Full cure occurs in 24 hours under standard conditions.

Q10. Can MR. JO Tecbond-IW be painted or coated over after curing?

A10. Yes, after full cure, it can be sanded, primed, or painted for finishing.

Q11. Is it waterproof after curing?

A11. Yes. It forms a strong, water-resistant seal, making it ideal for wet areas, underground pipes, and leakage-prone zones.
