MR. JO Artcast — CC33i: Faster crystal-clear casting for small to medium art and quick turnaround
Hook — the maker with weekend orders
Same studio, different demand: Same artist now has small batch commissions due in days. She needs that crystal finish but can’t wait the long cure of a slow system.
The problem
Small commissions and rapid deliveries need a resin that gives good clarity but cures faster so you can finish, sand and ship quickly. Slow systems are impractical for high-turnover small runs.
The solution — why CC33i
CC33i is the faster-curing, crystal-clear Artcast designed for smaller and medium castings. It still gives excellent clarity but gels and stabilizes more quickly so you can de-mold, sand and finish in less time — great for makers, workshops and micro-batch production.

Job-ready workflow
- Mold & prep: same discipline as CC33; keep molds small and rigid.
- 3:1 mixing: measure carefully and mix gently. Because CC33i cures faster, mix only what you can pour within its working time.
- Degas if possible, but smaller batches often let bubbles escape more easily.
- Pour & finish: quick torch passes to remove surface bubbles; expect shorter gel time so work fast.
- Cure & post-process: de-mold earlier than CC33, but follow TDS for sanding windows.
Dos & Don’tsndations
- Surface must be free from laitance, dust, oil, or loose paint
- High-pressure water blasting or wet grit blast preferred
- Optional: 15% HCl etching if other methods not feasible
- Drying not essential — can be applied on damp concrete
Dos & Don’ts
Do: use CC33i for small-to-medium items where speed matters; prepare everything before mixing.
Don’t: mix too large a batch (risk of heat/exotherm and loss of working time).

Troubleshooting
- Fast gel before finishing: batch too large or ambient too warm — reduce batch size and cool materials.
- Hidden bubbles after demold: try degassing or slightly slower pours.
Takeaway: CC33i is the balance of clarity + speed — ideal for makers who need professional finishes on a production timeline.
