SKU: ART/C10
Clear

Description

MR. JO Artcast – C10 is a clear, two-part epoxy system with low viscosity. It is solvent-free and easy to apply. Moreover, it offers a high build finish that seals cracks, pinholes, and small gaps. As a result, it gives a smooth and strong surface for resin art and similar applications.

  • Color: Clear
  • Pot life @25°C: 50-60 mins
  • Mixing Ratio: 10:1 PBW
  • Mixture consistency: Low viscosity liquid
  • Optics: Transparent
  • Casting up to 5mm
  • Clear coating
Surface Preparation
  • Substrate surfaces should be freed from laitance and dust by sand-blasting. In case sand-blasting is not possible, thorough abrading with a hard wire brush should be preferable.
Application Method
  • Use Part A & Part B in ratio 10:1 pbw. Mix the two components in small batches thoroughly for at least 2minutes. Apply the mix directly or using proper spatula to the pretreated surfaces.
  • The mixture should be applied as soon as the homogenous mix is achieved.
  • Allow the material to cure for at least 24 hours before putting to use.
Q1. What is MR. JO Artcast-C10 used for?

A1. It is a clear, fast-setting epoxy resin widely used for:

  • Small castings and art pieces
  • Craft jewelry and keychains
  • Filling cracks in marble, onyx, and natural stone
Q2. What is the mix ratio?

A2. 100:10 by weight (Resin: Hardener) — stir slowly and thoroughly for a uniform mix.

Q3. Why is it so popular with artisans?

A3.

  • Affordable and easy to use
  • Quick curing, ideal for small batches
  • Compatible with molds, pigments, and fillers
  • Works well for both casting and repair
Q4. Does it remain completely transparent?

A4. It is initially clear, but may develop slight yellowing during curing — especially in large or thick pours due to heat (exotherm). Best for non-UV or tinted applications.

Q5. Can I use this on stone and marble?

A5. Yes — it penetrates cracks effectively and provides a strong, glossy bond for filling fine and structural cracks in marble or stone.

Q6. How should MR. JO Artcast-C10 be applied?

A6.

  1. Clean the mold or repair area
  2. Mix resin and hardener in a 100:10 ratio
  3. Pour into mold or apply into cracks
  4. Use a heat gun to remove bubbles
  5. Let cure undisturbed
Q7. What is the pot life and cure time?

A7.

  • Pot life: ~20–25 minutes at 25°C
  • Touch dry: 4–6 hours
  • Full cure: 24–36 hours
Q8. Can I pigment this resin?

A8. Yes — use MR. JO ArtPigments or other compatible epoxy-safe pigments. Adding color also helps reduce visible yellowing.

Q9. What thickness can I pour with MR. JO Artcast-C10?

A9. Ideal for thin to moderate pours (up to 10–15 mm at a time). For thicker pours, consider MR. JO Artcast-CC33.

Q10. Can I use this for tabletops or large projects?

A10. Not recommended for large pours or deep castings due to short pot life and exotherm. Choose MR. JO Artcast-CC33 for such applications.

Q11. Can I sand and polish after curing?

A11. Yes — after full cure, you can sand and buff for a smooth, glossy finish.

Q12. What should I do if bubbles appear?

A12. Use a heat gun or flame immediately after pouring to help bubbles escape. Also mix slowly to minimize air entrapment.

Q13. Can it be recoated?

A13. Yes — apply the next layer while the surface is still tacky or lightly sand the cured layer before recoating.

Q14. Will it yellow over time?

A14. Some yellowing is expected, especially in sun-exposed or thick applications. Use for non-UV, artistic, or pigmented purposes.

Q15. What is the shelf life?

A15. 12 months in original sealed containers, stored in a cool, dry place away from sunlight and moisture.
