Description

Mr. JO Floor-ASL 2 is a three-part, solvent-free, self-leveling epoxy flooring system. It works well for areas that require electrostatic control. In addition, it ensures safety and efficiency with electric resistance up to 10⁹ Ohms. Its smooth and solid surface creates a strong bond. Moreover, it blocks moisture, stays easy-to-clean and maintain. As a result, upkeep is simple and stress-free.

  • Color: Pigmented
  • Pot life @25°C: 20-40 mins
  • Mixing Ratio: 100:50:100 PBW
  • Electrostatic dissipating properties
  • Mixture consistency: Self levelling
  • Thickness: 2mm
  • Coverage: 3.2 kg/m2
  • Data center
  • Semiconductor fabrication industry
  • Military & aerospace industries
  • Antistatic flooring
Surface Preparation
  • Surfaces should be freed from laitance and dust by sand-blasting. In case sand blasting is not possible, thorough abrading with a hard wire brush should be preferable.
  • Suitable degreasing agent should be used to remove any grease, oil or traces on the surface.
Application Method
  • Repair the surface if damaged. Allow 2-3 hours for surface of repaired area to dry. Choose a suitable product from Jpoxy’s JO range of Adhesives for repairing
  • Apply primer for better adhesion on substrate. Allow 4-5 hours for surface of repaired area to dry. Choose a suitable product from Jpoxy’s JO range of Primers.
  • An underlay is suggested if the substrate is badly damaged or is prone to high level of mechanical abrasion. Allow 4-5 hours for surface of repaired area to dry. Choose a suitable product from Jpoxy’s JO range of Underlays.
  • Mix all the three components provided in kit thoroughly for at least 2minutes. Copper mesh is laid and then mix is directly poured and spread with the help of trowel.
  • Allow 5-6 hour for surface to dry and 24 hours to achieve full strength flooring.
Q1. What is the Mr. JO Floor-ASL Series used for?

A1.These are antistatic (ESD-safe) self-leveling epoxy floors designed for:

  • Electronics manufacturing
  • Semiconductor and PCB assembly units
  • Server rooms and cleanrooms
  • Explosive and flammable environments
  • Pharma and medical device industries
Q2. What’s the difference between MR. JO Floor-ASL1 and MR. JO Floor-ASL2?

A2.

  • ASL 1 (1 mm): For light-to-medium duty antistatic protection
  • ASL 2 (2 mm): For heavy-duty zones, forklift traffic, and extended chemical/mechanical durability
Q3. Is MR. JO Primer-AS necessary for ASL floors?

A3. Yes – absolutely. MR. JO Primer – AS provides:

  • Conductive grounding base layer
  • Essential to create a complete ESD dissipation system

Without it, the floor may not meet ESD resistance specifications.

Q4. Can this be used in place of vinyl ESD flooring?

A4. Yes. Unlike vinyl tiles, ASL floors are:

  • Seamless
  • Chemical-resistant
  • Longer-lasting
  • Easier to maintain and clean
Q5. What colors are available?

A5. ASL systems are typically supplied in grey or black, but custom colors can be made depending on volume. Note: some pigments may slightly affect conductivity.

Q6. What is the complete flooring system for ESD protection?

A6.

Q7. What is the electrical resistance of this flooring?

A7. Typically in the range of 10⁶ – 10⁹ ohms

Q8. How do I ensure proper grounding?

A8.

  • Lay copper strips connected to building ground grid before applying the primer
  • Confirm connectivity using surface resistance meter after full cure
Q9. What is the pot life and curing time?

A9.

  • Pot life: ~30–40 minutes
  • Light traffic: 24 hours
  • Full ESD performance: 5–7 days
Q10. Can I apply this floor without ESD tools?

A10. Yes, regular epoxy tools can be used, but test resistance after curing to ensure compliance.

Q11. How do I test the conductivity of the floor?

A11. Use a surface resistance meter or point-to-ground tester per ESD standards after 7 days of curing.

Q12. Is it okay to apply a clear topcoat over MR. JO Floor-ASL?

A12. Only if the clear coat is ESD-rated. A standard topcoat may insulate the floor and reduce conductivity.

Q13. How should this floor be cleaned?

A13. Use ESD-safe floor cleaners. Avoid waxes or polish that could build up insulating layers on the surface.

Q14. What’s the lifespan of MR. JO Floor-ASL floors?

A14. With proper maintenance, 5–10 years, depending on traffic and chemical exposure. Resistance should be periodically verified in critical zones.

Q15. Can I recoat MR. JO Floor-ASL floors later?

A15. Yes — clean, sand lightly, and reapply ASL over a clean base. Recheck grounding if primer layer is disturbed.
