Description
Introducing Mr. JO Tecbond – ASU. It is a two component, multi purpose fast drying epoxy adhesive. It has less drying time when applied on surfaces. Great for construction and engineering projects, this quick setting instantly bonds materials like wood, metal, plastic, and ceramics. Moreover, it is solvent-free, making it safe for the environment. Also, you will enjoy the quick drying and strong bonding.
So, Tecbond – ASU is your top choice for all glue needs.
- Color: Reddish
- Pot life @25°C: 55-70 mins
- Mixing Ratio: 100:80 PBW
- Mixture consistency: Flowable liquid
- Optics: Translucent/Opaque
- Fast surface drying
- Structure and interior
- Encapsulation/Potting
- Bonds underprepared substrate
- The mixture should be applied on a clean and oil free surface. This should be achieved by suitable mechanical and chemical means such as sandblasting Wire brushing or chemical etching. Suitable degreasing agent should be used to remove any grease, or oil traces on the surface.
- Use Part A & Part B in ratio 100:80 pbw. Mix the two components in small batches thoroughly for at least 2minutes. Apply the mix directly or using proper spatula to the pretreated surfaces.
- The joint components should be assembled as soon as the adhesive has been applied.
- Allow the material to cure for at least 24 hours before putting to use.
A1. MR. JO Tecbond – ASU is a fast-curing epoxy adhesive designed for quick repairs, component bonding, handicrafts, and light industrial use. It is ideal where strength and speed are both required.
Q2. How is MR. JO Tecbond-ASU different from MR. JO Tecbond-ASG? A2.- ASU has a hazy resin and slightly longer pot life, allowing more working time than ASG.
- ASG has a clearer resin and is faster setting, better suited for instant-grab needs or transparent finishes.
A3. ASU works well with:
- Metal and ceramics
- Wood and composites
- Plastic, rubber, and stone
- Molded parts, or small assembly fixtures
A4. Yes, for general purpose craftwork. However, if optical clarity is important, MR. JO Tecbond – CLR or MR. JO Tecbond-ASG may be better choices due to their clearer resin systems.
Q5. What is the pot life and curing time of MR. JO Tecbond-ASU?A5. Pot life is around 50–60 minutes at 25°C. It achieves functional bonding within 3–4 hours, and full cure occurs in 24 hours.
Q6. What is the recommended mixing ratio?A6. Mix 100 parts resin to 80 parts hardener by weight (100:80 PBW). Ensure uniform, lump-free mixing before application.
Q7. Does MR. JO Tecbond-ASU work on slightly damp or underprepared surfaces?A7. While surface prep is always ideal, ASU can tolerate slightly imperfect conditions. For tough bonding on underprepared surfaces, MR. JO Tecbond-X may perform better.
Q8. Can it be used in vertical applications?A8. ASU is medium viscosity and can be applied to vertical surfaces with care. For non-sag behavior, products like MR. JO Tecbond-NS or MR. JO Tecbond-NSF are recommended.
Q9. What is the appearance after curing?A9. MR. JO Tecbond-ASU cures to a semi-clear bond line, slightly hazy in appearance, with a yellow-orange tint from the hardener.
Q10. Can the cured bond be sanded or finished?A10. Yes, once fully cured, MR. JO Tecbond-ASU can be sanded, drilled, or painted to match your final finish requirements.
Q11. Is it water and heat resistant?A11. ASU offers good resistance to moisture and moderate heat (up to ~70°C). For higher temperature, consider MR. JO Tecbond-HC.
