Description
Mr. JO Tecbond – OPT is a high viscosity, solvent-free epoxy adhesive. It is made for no mess, no spillage and precision application. Also, with a non drip formula, it holds itself to the substrate. So, it is perfect for better bonding and sealing glass. Plus, it works well in textile, construction, and general bonding applications. Specifically, it bonds materials like metals, plastics, and glass. This way, it ensures strong, durable bonds at room temperature. To get the best results, apply it to clean, rough, and dry surfaces. In summary, it is perfect for industrial use.
- Color :- Grey ( Other color available )
- Pot life :- @25'C: 95-125 mins
- Mixing Ration :- 100:80 PBW
- Mixture consistency :- Floppy liquid
- optics :- Opaque
- sport and leisure equipment
- badminted racket
- golf club heads to shafts
- The mixture should be applied on a clean, rough and dry surface. This should be achieved by suitable mechanical and chemical means such as sandblasting Wire brushing or chemical etching. Suitable degreasing agent should be used to remove any grease, or oil traces on the surface.
- Use Part A & Part B in ratio 100:80 pbw. Mix the two components in small batches thoroughly for at least 2minutes. Apply the mix directly or using proper spatula to the pretreated surfaces.
- The joint components should be assembled as soon as the adhesive has been applied.
- Allow the material to cure for at least 24 hours before putting to use.
A1. MR. JO Tecbond – OPT is a high-viscosity, non-sag epoxy adhesive designed for precision bonding where controlled application without dripping is essential. It’s widely used in metal assembly, racket manufacturing, tool repair, and fixture assembly.
Q2. How is MR. JO Tecbond- OPT different from MR. JO Tecbond-OPK?A2.
- OPT has a thicker, higher viscosity, making it ideal for users who need an adhesive that stays exactly where applied, with no dripping or slumping.
- OPK, while semi-flowable, spreads more easily and is preferred where some level of flow is acceptable or desired.
A3.
- Steel badminton racket manufacturers use it to bond the T-joint to the rod, as the adhesive holds in place perfectly during curing.
- It’s also suitable for precision metal assemblies, appliance repairs, and general industrial bonding tasks requiring positional stability.
A4. Yes. While optimized for metal-to-metal bonding, it also adheres well to ceramics, rigid plastics, and wood, provided the surfaces are clean and properly prepped.
Q5. What is the recommended mix ratio and pot life?A5. Mix 100 parts resin to 80 parts hardener by weight (100:80 PBW). Pot life is approximately 50–60 minutes at 25°C, depending on batch size and ambient conditions.
Q6. Is surface preparation necessary before using OPT?A6. Yes. Surfaces should be:
- Clean and dry
- Free of oils, rust, or dust
- Lightly abraded (especially metals) for better mechanical interlock
A7. Functional cure is achieved in 4–6 hours. Full strength develops in 24 hours at room temperature.
Q8. What is the cured finish like?A8. MR. JO Tecbond-OPT cures to a hard, opaque finish with strong mechanical properties. The grey tone is standard, but custom colors may be offered for bulk orders.
Q9. Can I sand, drill, or paint over it after curing?A9. Yes. Once fully cured, the adhesive is machinable, sandable, and can be overcoated or finished as needed.
Q10. Is it moisture or heat resistant?A10. Yes, once cured, it offers moderate resistance to moisture and operating temperatures up to ~70°C.
Q12. How should I store the adhesive?A12. Store in a cool, dry area, tightly sealed. Avoid exposure to sunlight or humidity. Shelf life: 12 months under proper storage.
