MR. JO Underlay-CMR : Chemical-Resistant Epoxy Underlay Built to Endure the Toughest Floors
When it comes to industrial floors exposed to corrosive chemicals, cleaning agents, and aggressive solvents, ordinary epoxy underlays won’t make the cut. That’s where MR. JO Underlay-CMR steps in — a chemical-resistant epoxy screed designed for long-term durability, even under the harshest floor conditions.
Whether you’re preparing a surface for a chemical-resistant topcoat or building thickness in containment areas, MR. JO Underlay- CMR provides the foundation of protection you can count on.
🧪 What Makes CMR Special?
Unlike regular epoxy underlays, CMR is based on a high-performance resin-hardener system that offers excellent resistance to a wide range of acids, alkalis, solvents, and industrial effluents.
This makes it ideal for industries like:
- Chemical processing
- Battery rooms and acid-handling areas
- Pharmaceutical and food factories
- Water treatment and effluent plants
- Dairies, breweries, distilleries
- Laboratories and clean rooms
🧱 Where to Use CMR
- Chemical bunds and containment areas
- Process floors and trenches
- Underground storage or effluent channels
- Laboratories, R&D units, clean rooms
- Anywhere high mechanical + chemical exposure is expected
🌟 Key Benefits
✅ High chemical resistance – compatible with aggressive industrial environments
✅ Versatile application – flowable for leveling, tampable for slopes/covings
✅ Excellent substrate adhesion – ensures long service life without delamination
✅ Easy workability – optimized pot life and working time
✅ Strong foundation – supports heavy-duty or anti-corrosive epoxy topcoats

🧰 Application Guide
- Surface Preparation
- Shot-blast or grind concrete for mechanical anchor
- Clean and dry surface, free of oil, laitance, or debris
- Use primer suited to substrate: MR. JO Primer MVC, LVC, or UPS
- Mixing
- Mix resin (Part A) and hardener (Part B) until uniform
- Slowly add quartz filler (Part C) to form desired consistency
- Use low-speed drill with mixing paddle for uniform blend
- Laying the Underlay
- Flowable: Pour and spread using notched trowel or rake; finish with spike roller
- Tampable: Apply using trowel or hand tamper for slopes, vertical edges, or coves
- Curing Schedule
- Tack-free in 6–8 hours at 25°C
- Light foot traffic after 24 hours
- Topcoat application window: 24–48 hours
- Full cure in 7 days
⚠️ Cautions & Tips
- Apply only over properly prepared and primed surfaces
- Ensure consistent mix ratios; do not batch-part small quantities
- Avoid moisture contact during initial curing
- For vertical or curved sections, tampable grade gives better workability
