Description

Jpoxy JR 5126 is a modified epoxy resin that flows very easily because it has very low thickness. It does not contain any solvents. This resin helps spread well on surfaces and removes air bubbles during use. People use this epoxy resin to make smooth coatings and strong bonds. It works great when you want clear, bubble-free finishes.

  • EEW [g/eq] : 185-200
  • Viscosity [mPa s] @ 25˚C : 1000-1500
  • Color [Gardner] : ≤2
  • Density @ 25˚C [g/cc] : 1.10 -1.15
  • Filament winding
  • Composites
  • RTM
  • Pultrusion
  • Di functional Aliphatic reactive diluent modified BPA resin
  • Very good wet out and degassing properties
Q1. What is JR 5126?

A1. JR 5126 is a very low-viscosity, solvent-free, modified Bisphenol-A epoxy resin. It is engineered for excellent flow, wetting, and air release, making it ideal for high-performance composites and structural applications.

Q2. What are the key technical specifications?

A2.

  • Epoxy Equivalent Weight (EEW): 185–200 g/eq
  • Viscosity @ 25°C: 1000–1500 mPa·s
  • Color (Gardner): ≤2
  • Density @ 25°C: 1.10–1.15 g/cc
  • Appearance: Clear to light amber liquid
Q3. What are the main applications of JR 5126?

A3. This resin is specially designed for:

  • Filament winding of FRP components
  • Resin Transfer Moulding (RTM)
  • Pultrusion processes
  • General composite fabrication
  • Clear, bubble-free coatings and laminates
Q4. Why is JR 5126 ideal for composite applications?

A4. JR 5126 offers:

  • Low viscosity for easy flow into glass/carbon fiber bundles
  • Excellent air release, minimizing voids
  • Good wetting of reinforcements
  • Strong mechanical bonding when cured with suitable amines or anhydrides
Q5. Is JR 5126 compatible with fast or slow hardeners?

A5. Yes. You can pair JR 5126 with:

  • Fast-cure amines for hand lay-up or quick RTM
  • Slow-cure hardeners (like cycloaliphatics or anhydrides) for thick sections, pultrusion, or elevated temperature cures
Q6. Can JR 5126 be used in clear castings or coatings?

A6. Yes, due to its low viscosity and bubble release, it can be used for clear coatings, thin laminates, or decorative applications where clarity and flow are important. However, UV stability may require a topcoat or additives.

Q7. Is JR 5126 solvent-free and low VOC?

A7. Yes. JR 5126 is 100% solids and solvent-free, making it low in VOC emissions and suitable for enclosed manufacturing setups.

Q8. What is the shelf life of JR 5126?

A8. When stored in original, sealed containers at 20–30°C away from sunlight and moisture, the shelf life is 12 months from the date of manufacture.

Q9. What packaging options are available?

A9. Typically offered in 5 kg, 10 kg, and 20 kg packs. Bulk packaging is available for OEMs and composite fabricators.
