Description

MR. JO Artglue – CT50i is a two-part clear epoxy coating. It has medium thickness and gives a shiny, glass-like finish. In addition, it is easy to clean and solvent-free. Once cured, the surface is safe for food and drinking water. You need to mix the two parts in a 2:1 ratio. Therefore, it works well on art surfaces, tabletops, and countertops.

  • Color: Clear
  • Pot life @25°C: 10-25 mins
  • Mixing Ratio: 2:1 PBW
  • Mixture consistency: Thick liquid
  • Optics: Transparent
  • Clear coating
  • Handicraft
  • Artifacts
Surface Preparation
  • Substrate surfaces should be freed from laitance and dust by sand-blasting. In case sand-blasting is not possible, thorough abrading with a hard wire brush should be preferable.
Application Method
  • Use Part A & Part B in ratio 2:1 pbw. Mix the two components in small batches thoroughly for at least 2minutes. Apply the mix directly or using proper spatula to the pretreated surfaces
  • The mixture should be applied as soon as the homogenous mix is achieved.
  • Allow the material to cure for at least 24 hours before putting to use.

Q3. Are these systems clear after curing?

A3. Yes, all four versions cure crystal clear with high gloss.

Q4. Do these compare to other branded art glues?

A4. Yes, they are comparable in performance to leading market options in the craft and souvenir space, with tailored pot life and viscosity options.

Q5. How are MR. JO Artglue systems applied? A5.
  • Mix Resin and Hardener (100:50 by weight)
  • Stir slowly to avoid air bubbles
  • Apply with brush or spatula
  • Let self-level or shape as desired
  • Allow to cure undisturbed
Q6. Can I pigment MR. JO Artglue?

A6. Yes — you can add MR. JO ArtPigments or compatible transparent/translucent tints for color effects. Keep addition below 5% for clarity.

Q7. What is the typical coverage per mix?

A7. Varies based on article shape, but approx. 1.2–1.5 m²/kg for a thin topcoat.

Q8. Can I use this over painted or printed surfaces?

A8. Yes — ensure the surface is dry, clean, and dust-free. Always test compatibility with delicate paints or inks.

Q9. Which version is best for 3D shapes or vertical edges?

A9. Use MR. JO Artglue-CT50i for thicker build and lower flow — ideal for domed finishes or uneven shapes.

Q10. How long does it take to fully cure?

A10.

  • Touch dry: ~6–8 hrs
  • Handling: 12–24 hrs
  • Full cure: ~48 hrs (slower versions may take longer)
Q11. Will the coating yellow over time?

A11. It offers good clarity and UV stability, but some yellowing may occur under direct sunlight over time — use indoors or with UV-protective topcoat.

Q12. What if bubbles form during mixing?

A12.

  • Mix gently to reduce air entrapment
  • Use a heat gun or flame lightly over the surface right after application to pop bubbles
Q13. Can I polish or recoat if needed?

A13. Yes — once cured, lightly sand and apply a new coat if desired. For best results, recoat while surface is still tacky (within 6–10 hours).
