Two component clear thick viscosity 80 PHR epoxy adhesive for resin art

SKU: ART/CC80
Clear

Description

Mr. JO Artbond – CC80 is a clear, thick epoxy adhesive. It comes in two parts and has a high-viscosity formula. Moreover, this system is solvent-free and non-porous. It also gives excellent clarity, which makes it ideal for resin art. Additionally, you can mix it easily with 80 PHR hardener. As a result, it bonds well and creates a strong, glossy finish.

  • Color: Clear
  • Pot life @25°C: 30-40 mins
  • Mixing Ratio: 100:80 PBW
  • Mixture consistency: Clear thick flowable liquid
  • Optics: Transparent
  • Doming
  • Crack sealing
  • Adhesive
Surface Preparation
  • Substrate surfaces should be freed from laitance and dust by sand-blasting. In case sand-blasting is not possible, thorough abrading with a hard wire brush should be preferable.
Application Method
  • Use Part A & Part B in ratio 100:80 pbw. Mix the two components in small batches thoroughly for at least 2minutes. Apply the mix directly or using proper spatula to the pretreated surfaces.
  • The mixture should be applied as soon as the homogenous mix is achieved.
  • Allow the material to cure for at least 24 hours before putting to use.
Q1. What is MR. JO Artbond-CC80 used for?

A1. It is a clear, general-purpose epoxy adhesive designed for:

  • Craft assembly
  • Jewelry and gift items
  • Decorative bonding where visual clarity is important
  • Minor repairs in transparent or light-colored materials
Q2. How is it different from standard epoxy adhesives?

A2. Unlike common yellow or hazy adhesives, MR. JO Artbond-CC80 cures to a clear, non-cloudy finish. It's specifically designed for visible joints, artistic applications, and aesthetic surfaces.

Q3. What is the mix ratio?

A3. Mix 100 parts resin to 80 parts hardener by weight. Ensure proper mixing for best clarity and bond strength.

Q4. Is this similar to MR. JO Tecbond-CLR?

A4. Yes — it’s similar in chemistry and performance, but MR. JO Artbond-CC80 is packaged for artisan and retail use, often in smaller kits.

Q5. What surfaces does it bond well with?

A5.

  • Metal
  • Glass
  • Ceramic
  • Wood
  • Plastic (non-oily types)
  • Stones, beads, and embellishments
Q6. How should I apply MR. JO Artbond-CC80?

A6.

  • Mix resin and hardener (100:80 by weight)
  • Stir slowly to avoid bubbles
  • Apply to clean, dry surfaces
  • Clamp or hold pieces in place
  • Allow to cure undisturbed
Q7. How long is the pot life?

A7. Approximately 30–40 minutes at 25°C.

Q8. How long does it take to cure?

A8.

  • Initial bond: 6–8 hours
  • Full strength: 24–48 hours depending on temperature
Q9. Can I use it in molds or casting? A9. It’s best used as an adhesive, not a casting resin. For casting, use MR. JO Artcast-CC33. Q10. Can it be pigmented?

A10. Yes — though designed for clear bonding, light tinting is possible using MR. JO ArtPigment.

Q11. Will the adhesive yellow over time?

A11. Slight yellowing may occur under direct sunlight or high-UV exposure, as with most epoxies. For best clarity, store or use indoors.

Q12. Is it safe for use with wearable crafts or skin-contact items?

A12. Yes — once fully cured, it is non-toxic and inert, but it's not recommended for food-contact surfaces.

Q13. Can I sand or polish it after curing?

A13. Yes — it can be lightly sanded and buffed for a clean, smooth finish, especially in decorative repairs.

Q14. What pack sizes is it available in?

A14. It is available in small, artisan-friendly packs, suitable for hobbyists, artists, and home-based makers.
