Q1. What is MR. JO Tecbond – CLR used for?

A1. It is a clear, two-component epoxy adhesive designed for applications where visual appearance matters, such as crafts, art pieces, decorative furniture, transparent joints, and high-finish surfaces.

Q2. How is it different from other general-purpose epoxy adhesives?

A2. Unlike typical epoxies that cure with a yellow or hazy finish, MR. JO Tecbond – CLR has a crystal-clear resin and hardener, curing to a fully transparent finish—ideal when you don’t want the adhesive line to be visible.

Q3. What kind of materials can it bond?

A3. It is suitable for bonding:

  • Acrylic and glass panels
  • Wood and veneers
  • Decorative laminates
  • Jewelry, craft components
  • Ceramic and polished stone
Q4. Is this product suitable for load-bearing or structural applications?

A4. It is best used in non-structural or light-duty applications where aesthetic transparency is the priority.

Q5. What is the mixing ratio and pot life?

A5. Mix Part A and Part B in a 100:80 ratio by weight. The pot life is about 45–60 minutes at room temperature.

Q6. How can I ensure the bond stays clear after curing?

A6. Mix the two parts slowly and gently to avoid trapping air bubbles, which can create a cloudy or white effect in the cured joint. Use a flat stirrer and mix with minimal agitation.

Q7. Can it be poured or cast for artistic use?

A7. It’s primarily formulated as a clear adhesive, not a casting resin. For deep pour or large volume castings, a specialized product like MR. JO Artcast-CC33 is recommended.

Q8. Can this be used on vertical or overhead surfaces?

A8. CLR has a moderate flow. For vertical applications where run-off is a concern, consider using in thin layers or supported until cured.

Q9. What is the curing time?

A9. Initial set occurs in a few hours, with full cure in 24 hours under standard room temperature.

Q10. Will the cured adhesive yellow over time?

A10. Under normal indoor conditions, it maintains its optical clarity for extended periods. However, direct sunlight or UV exposure over time may cause slight yellowing.

Q11. Can I sand or polish the adhesive after curing?

A11. Yes. Once cured, it can be lightly sanded and polished to maintain a clean joint line or to remove surface imperfections.
