Description

MR. JO Teckot-PRO is a two-part, water-based epoxy system. It helps professionals waterproof concrete surfaces with ease. The formula comes in a bright white color. It works well on both dry and slightly damp areas. Moreover, it spreads smoothly and dries quickly. As a result, it creates a strong and long-lasting protective layer. Therefore, it is an excellent choice for reliable waterproofing.

  • Color: Bright White
  • Pot life @25°C: 45-60mins
  • Mixing Ratio: 150:100 PBW
  • Mixture consistency: Fluffy flowable liquid
  • Optics: Opaque
  • To hold rising dampness
  • Low water vapors transmission coating in building and construction industries
  • As a damp proof membrane to prevent water seepage
  • As a waterproofing membrane in water tanks
Surface Preparation
  • Concrete surfaces should be freed from laitance and dust by sand-blasting. In case sand-blasting is not possible, thorough abrading with a hard wire brush should be preferable.

Application Method
  • Use Jpoxy JO Tekkot-PRO Part A & Part B in recommended ratio and mix the components thoroughly for at least 2 minutes or until uniform mix is obtained.
  • Paintbrush, roller or other mechanism equipment can be deployed for obtaining the desired finish.
Q1. What is MR. JO Teckot used for?

A1. MR. JO Teckot is a water-based epoxy waterproofing coating designed for:

  • Terraces, balconies, and sunk portions
  • Concrete surfaces prior to tile or overlay installation
  • Prevention of water seepage through slabs and RCC structures
Q2. What’s the difference between MR. JO Teckot-RTU, PRO, and CLR?

A2.

  • RTU (Ready-to-Use): Off-white, no dilution required, best performance and consistency
  • PRO: White, dilutable at site with water (up to 100%), more economical, flexible in usage
  • CLR: Transparent, budget-friendly option for visibility or aesthetic applications
Q3. Which product is best for professional work with variable site conditions?

A3. MR. JO Teckot-RTU is recommended for professionals, as it avoids dependency on on-site water quality — a common cause of performance variation.

Q4. How does MR. JO Teckot compare to other waterproofing systems like SBR, acrylic, or PU

A4.

  • Superior bonding to concrete
  • Better moisture tolerance
  • Non-flexible compared to SBR/PU, so not suitable for high crack-bridging zones
  • Strong base for further construction or screeds
Q5. Can these be applied to new or old concrete?

A5. Yes — MR. JO Teckot adheres well to new and existing concrete as long as the surface is clean, damp (not wet), and dust-free.

Q6. Can I apply MR. JO Teckot on a damp surface?

A6. Yes. All MR. JO Teckot variants are designed for application on damp concrete. Avoid application in standing or ponded water.

Q7. What is the mixing ratio for each version?

A7.

  • MR. JO Teckot-RTU: 150:100 by weight (100:100 by volume)
  • MR. JO Teckot-PRO: 150:100 by weight (100:100 by volume) + optional water dilution up to 100 parts
  • MR. JO Teckot-CLR: 100:100 by weight
Q8. How many coats are required?

A8. Generally 2 to 3 coats are recommended. Each coat should be applied after the previous coat becomes touch dry.

Q9. How much area does each coat cover?

A9. Approximate coverage is 4–5 m² per kg per coat, depending on substrate porosity and application thickness.

Q10. How do I apply the coating?

A10.

  • Use a roller or brush
  • Apply on clean, pre-wetted (damp) concrete
  • Avoid puddling
  • For better adhesion of further construction or screeds, sprinkle sand on the final coat while it is still wet
Q11. Can I dilute MR. JO Teckot-RTU or CLR? A11.
  • Do not dilute RTU – it's ready-to-use
  • Do not dilute CLR – not designed for water addition Only PRO is meant for site dilution
Q12. How long should I wait before tile or mortar overlay?

A12. Wait until the final coat is fully cured (12–24 hours). For cement-based toppings, it is best to broadcast sand into the final coat before curing.

Q13. Can I leave the MR. JO Teckot layer exposed?

A13. MR. JO Teckot performs best under tiles or mortar layers. If left exposed to direct sunlight, performance may reduce over time. For exposed use, use a UV-resistant topcoat or screed.

Q14. Can it resist hydrostatic pressure from below?

A14. It resists dampness and light seepage but is not designed for constant hydrostatic pressure. Not recommended for use in submerged or underwater settings.

Q15. What is the pot life and work time?

A15. Once mixed:

  • Pot life is ~40 minutes at 25°C
  • Use within this time to avoid material wastage and curing in the container
Q16. How should the surface be prepared?

A16.

  • Remove all dust, oil, and laitance
  • Pre-wet concrete (damp, not dripping)
  • Roughen smooth concrete if needed
  • No primer is required before Teckot
Q17. Can I recoat after a few days if needed?

A17. Yes — clean and lightly sand the existing surface before recoating.

Q18. Is MR. JO Teckot safe for internal use (low smell/low VOC)?

A18. Yes — it's a water-based, low-odor system, suitable for indoor use, even in closed or ventilated environments.
