Q1. What is JR 3125?

A1. Jpoxy JR 3125 is a solvent-free, thixotropic epoxy resin based on Bisphenol-A. It is specially designed for high-strength structural adhesives where non-sag and paste-like consistency is desired.

Q2. What does 'thixotropic' mean in this context?

A2. ‘Thixotropic’ means that the resin has a gel-like consistency at rest but flows when shear is applied (like during mixing or application). This prevents it from sagging or dripping, making it ideal for vertical or overhead bonding.

Q3. What are the main applications of JR 3125?

A3.

  • Structural and construction adhesives
  • Electrical component bonding
  • Automotive, appliance, and general industry bonding
  • Gap-filling and vertical bonding It is widely used in room temperature curing adhesive systems.
Q4. Which hardeners are compatible with JR 3125?

A4. It is best used with polyamine or polyamidoamine-based hardeners. The selection can be tailored based on pot life, cure time, and flexibility required.

Q5. Can JR 3125 be used as-is or does it require mixing?

A5. JR 3125 is a Part A resin and must be mixed with a suitable hardener (Part B) before use. The mix ratio will depend on the hardener chosen.

Q6. What makes JR 3125 different from JR 3000 or JR 3003?

A6.

  • JR 3000: Medium-viscosity, general-purpose epoxy resin
  • JR 3003: High-viscosity resin for adhesives/coatings
  • JR 3125: Thixotropic paste resin, ideal for vertical/structural bonding
Q7. What is the shelf life of Jpoxy JR 3125?

A7. It has a shelf life of 12 months when stored in original, sealed containers at room temperature (20–30°C), away from moisture and sunlight.
