Description

MR. JO EP Grout – STD is a three-part epoxy grout system. It flows easily and easy to use. Also, it works well for heavy foundations and machinery installation. You can also use it for steel, concrete, and other structural jobs. In addition, it spreads smoothly and fills gaps easily. It is strong, cost-effective, and long-lasting. So, it is a smart pick for many industrial and general-purpose needs.

  • Color: Light Grey
  • Pot life @25°C:100-150 mins
  • Mixing Ratio: 100:50:450 PBW
  • Mixture consistency: Flowable
  • Optics: Opaque
  • Heavy machine base base plate fixing
  • Vibration dampening
  •  Post fixing
  • Grouting cavities, gaps and voids in concrete
Pretreatment
  • Metal foundations must be cleaned and degreased. Sand-blasting, if feasible, provides a very good pretreatment. The bolts should be roughened with sand blasting/emery paper till the base metal is exposed. The concrete surface pretreatment should ensure that loose laitance layer and shuttering oil if any, is removed. Thorough wire brushing and cleaning with blast of hot air is recommended.. The concrete should be sufficiently cured (2-4 weeks) to avoid shrinkage cracks.
  • It is advisable to prime the surface with Jpoxy’s JO range of Primers. In case there is a time lag between priming and grouting with epoxy mortar, the surface of the primed layer should be made anti-skid by sprinkling quartz sand mix no. 10 on the primed surface, when the coating is tacky.
Application Method
  • All the components of kit should be mixed in recommended mixing ratios.. Mixing can be carried out manually by means of a trowel. In case mechanical mixing is employed, slow speed mixers with paddles should be used to ensure minimum air entrapment. It is preferable to let the mixed formulation stand for a few minutes to let the entrapped air escape.
  • Once all components are mixed the reaction proceeds, i.e. the viscosity of the mix increases, thereby the workability will decrease. The mix should be used within the pot life. Under no conditions, the mix should be used after it is gelled. Since the reaction is exothermic, large batch sizes should be avoided
Grouting for spaces
  • Upto 30 mm depth : Grout can simply be poured and troweled evenly.
  •  30 to 50 mm depth : Grouting should be done by casting 2 or 3 layers, at a time Upto 20-30 mm thickness
  •  Over 60 mm depth : Grouting should be carried out carefully using a funnel along with a flexible plastic tube to direct the grout to spots not accessible.
Q1. What is MR. JO EP Grout-STD used for?

A1. It is a 3-part epoxy-based foundation grouting system used for:

  • Machinery foundations
  • Base plate and anchor bolt fixing
  • Repairing concrete around heavy equipment
  • Grouting in areas with oil, water, and normal industrial exposure
Q2. How is it different from MR. JO EP Grout-CMR?

A2.

  • EP Grout-STD is a general-purpose version, designed to resist oils, water, and light chemical spills
  • EP Grout-CMR is a chemical-resistant version meant for harsh chemical plant conditions Choose EP Grout STD for standard industrial environments and EP Grout CMR for aggressive chemical zones.
Q3. Is it suitable for dynamic load conditions?

A3. Yes — it offers excellent mechanical strength and is suitable for vibration-prone machinery and dynamic loading environments like manufacturing floors, machine shops, and power plants.

Q4. What types of industries use this product?

A4.

  • Engineering units
  • Automotive and textile plants
  • Power generation
  • General manufacturing and process plants
Q5. What are the components of the system?

A5. It is supplied as a 3-part pack:

  • Part A: Epoxy Resin
  • Part B: Hardener
  • Part C: Graded quartz filler/aggregates
Q6. What is the typical mix ratio and process?

A6.

  • Mix Part A and B thoroughly
  • Gradually add Part C filler and mix until uniform
  • Pour or trowel into the prepared area immediately
  • Allow to cure undisturbed
Q7. What is the pot life after mixing?

A7. About 30–40 minutes at 25°C, depending on ambient conditions.

Q8. What surfaces can it be applied on?

A8.

  • Concrete
  • Stone
  • Precast pads
  • Metal base plates (with proper surface preparation)
Q9. Does it require a primer?

A9. On porous, dusty, or damp surfaces, we recommend using a compatible primer like MR. JO Primer-MVC or LVC to ensure optimal bonding.

Q10. What is the cure time before re-use or load application?

A10.

  • Light traffic: 12–16 hours
  • Heavy machinery or dynamic load: 48–72 hours
  • Full cure: 7 days
Q11. Can it be used for filling voids or patching concrete?

A11. Yes — it works well for horizontal repair, void filling, and as a grout backfill under equipment baseplates.

Q12. What kind of resistance does it offer?

A12.

  • Good resistance to oils, fuels, coolants, water
  • Not recommended for strong acids or solvents — use MR. JO EP Grout-CMR in such cases
Q13. Can it be used in hot or cold environments?

A13. Yes — but working time will reduce in hot climates and increase in cold. Use appropriate measures to adjust mix temperature.

Q14. How should the product be stored?

A14. Keep all components in sealed containers in a cool, dry place (15–25°C). Avoid moisture contact with filler. Q15. What is the shelf life?

A15. Up to 12 months if stored properly in original packaging.
