Description
Mr. JO Marblekot is a clear, two-part epoxy system with low viscosity. It is completely solvent-free and easy to apply. You can use it to fill cracks or coat large marble and stone slabs. Moreover, it spreads evenly and forms a strong bond. As a result, it ensures a smooth, durable finish. Therefore, it is a reliable choice for marble surface repairs and coatings.
- Color: Clear
- Pot life @25°C: 30-45 mins
- Mixing Ratio: 100:50 PBW
- Mixture consistency: Very Low viscosity liquid
- Coverage: Transparent
- Surface finish
- Clear coating
- Glows finish
- The mixture should be applied on a clean, rough and dry surface. For good results, it is required that the marble surface is clean, and dry. This should be achieved by suitable mechanical means such as sandblasting or wire brushing.
- Use Part A & Part B in ratio 100:50 pbw. Mix the two components in small batches thoroughly for at least 2minutes. Apply the mix directly or using proper spatula to the pretreated surfaces.
- The mixture should be applied as soon as the homogenous mix is achieved.
- Allow the material to cure for at least 24 hours before putting to use.
A1. MR. JO Marblekot is a low-viscosity, clear epoxy system designed for:
- Filling visible cracks and veins in marble after cutting
- Sealing the entire marble surface before polishing to fill fine pinholes, pores, and surface flaws
A2. Ideal for:
- Marble (white, colored, veined)
- Onyx, limestone, travertine
- Any natural stone where surface finish and internal integrity matter
A3. Mix 100 parts resin with 50 parts hardener by weight. Blend thoroughly to ensure proper curing and clarity.
Q4. Is MR. JO Marblekot suitable for structural bonding or reinforcement?A4. No — it is designed for cosmetic crack filling and surface enhancement, not structural repairs. For structural use, consider Mr. JO MarbleWrap or MR. JO Tecseal-CRP.
Q5. Is it better than standard adhesives or resins for crack filling?A5. Yes — Marblekot offers:
- Superior penetration due to its low viscosity
- Clear finish for near-invisible repairs
- Smooth sealing coat for enhanced polish and minimal patch visibility
A6.
- Clean and dry the marble surface
- Mix resin and hardener in 100:50 ratio
- Use syringe, dropper, or fine spatula to fill cracks
- Let it self-level and settle, remove excess if needed
- Allow full cure before finishing
A7.
- Spread a thin, uniform layer over the entire cut surface using a flat blade or squeegee
- Allow it to penetrate into microcracks and pinholes
- Let it cure, then grind/polish to reveal a flawless finish
Q8. Can it be tinted?
A8. Yes — small amounts of MR. JO ArtPigment or compatible transparent epoxy pigments may be added to match the stone tone if required.
Q9. What is the pot life and curing time?A9.
- Pot life: ~30–40 minutes at 25°C
- Handling time: ~6–8 hours
- Polishable cure: ~12–24 hours
- Full cure: 48–72 hours for heavy-duty use
A10. Yes — you can reapply or touch up after the first coat is cured and surface is lightly sanded.
Q11. Can I polish directly after curing?A11. Yes — after full cure, it can be grinded and polished to match the rest of the stone. It leaves no haze or yellow line if applied correctly.
Q12. Will it yellow over time?A12. Like most clear epoxies, slight yellowing may occur under long-term UV exposure. It is best used for indoor or shaded applications.
Q13. What if I see air bubbles in the crack?A13. To minimize bubbles:
- Mix slowly to avoid entrapping air
- Warm the surface slightly or use a gentle heat gun after application to help bubbles rise and burst
A14. 12 months when stored in original containers, in a cool, dry place, away from sunlight.
