Electrostatic Dissipative Primer for Sensitive Surfaces
In facilities where even the smallest electrostatic charge can disrupt equipment or compromise safety, a standard primer just won’t do. MR. JO Primer – AS is purpose-built for these environments. It is a two-component, solvent-free, thixotropic epoxy primer that ensures effective dissipation of static electricity through the floor system—right from the ground up.
Where It Works Best
MR. JO Primer – AS is engineered to serve as the grounding layer in antistatic epoxy flooring systems. It is particularly useful for:
- Electronics assembly units
- Pharmaceutical manufacturing zones
- Clean rooms and laboratories
- Server rooms and data centers
- Defense and ordnance facilities
- Battery production areas
- Automobile paint shops
- Warehousing of volatile chemicals
Core Features :
Just mix and apply — no measuring, no mistakes.
- Electrostatic Dissipative
Provides consistent conductivity across the surface with resistance values up to 10⁹ Ohms, forming a secure foundation for antistatic flooring.
- Black Thixotropic Paste
Thicker and paste-like, it offers better coverage on rough or uneven substrates and is best applied using a flat steel trowel or notched spreader.
- Solvent-Free & Non-Porous
Environmentally friendly, VOC-free, and ensures strong bonding to both concrete and previously treated surfaces. - Seamless Compatibility
Specifically designed to pair with MR. JO Floorkot – AS (coating system) and MR. JO Floor-ASL1/ASL 2 (Flooring system), providing full system performance.

Copper Tape Grid – Placement Guide
To complete the electrostatic path, a copper tape grid must be installed. The recommended position is:
- Directly on the substrate before applying MR. JO Primer – AS, OR
- Between a base primer (e.g., MVC, LVC) and MR. JO Primer – AS if a build-up or underlay layer is required.
Note: Ensure one end of the copper grid is earthed to maintain conductivity across the system.
When to Use Underlay Before AS Primer
If the substrate is:
- Heavily uneven
- Requires thickness build-up
- Needs repairs or leveling
…it is recommended to first apply a flowable screed from the Mr. JO Underlay Series (Eco, STD, FLO, etc.) over a regular primer (like MVC or LVC), before proceeding with Mr. JO Primer – AS. This ensures a level and load-bearing surface for the antistatic flooring system to function effectively.

Application Method
- Mix the two components as per ratio by weight (100:30).
- Apply the mixed primer with a trowel to the prepared surface.
- Allow the surface to cure and ensure it is tack-free before proceeding with antistatic topcoats like Floorkot-AS or Floor-ASL systems.
Why MR. JO Primer – AS?
Because when you’re working with sensitive electronics or safety-critical equipment, grounding starts with the very first coat. MR. JO Primer – AS doesn’t just prepare the surface — it safeguards your investment in every layer that follows.
