Description

Mr. Floorkot – CMR is a two-part epoxy floor coating. It has a medium thickness and contains no solvents. It protects against oils, chemicals, acids, and salty water.

  • Color: Pigmented
  • Pot life @25°C: 20-40 mins
  • Mixing Ratio: 100:20 PBW
  • Good Chemical resistant
  • Mixture consistency: Flowable liquid
  • Coverage: 4 m2/kg/coat
  • Optics: Opaque
  • Area prone to chemical spillage
  • Laboratory
  • Industrial floors
  • Area prone to oil spillage
Surface Preparation
  • Surfaces should be freed from laitance and dust by sand-blasting. In case sand blasting is not possible, thorough abrading with a hard wire brush should be preferable.
  • Suitable degreasing agent should be used to remove any grease, oil or traces on the surface.
Application Method
  • Repair the surface if damaged. Allow 2-3 hours for surface of repaired area to dry. Choose a suitable product from Jpoxy’s JO range of Adhesives for repairing.
  • Apply primer for better adhesion on substrate. Allow 4-5 hours for surface of repaired area to dry. Choose a suitable product from Jpoxy’s JO range of Primers.
  • Mix all the two components provided in kit thoroughly for at least 2minutes. Apply the mix directly by pouring and spreading with the help of trowel.
  • Allow 5-6 hour for surface to dry and 24 hours to achieve full strength coating.
Q1. What is MR. JO Floorkot – CMR used for?

A1. MR. JO Floorkot – CMR is a two-component, solvent-free epoxy floor coating designed for:

  • Industrial floors requiring chemical resistance
  • Zones exposed to cleaning agents, oils, alkalis, and mild acids
  • Areas where regular epoxy coatings like MR. JO Floorkot-HB may not suffice
Q2. How does MR. JO Floorkot – CMR differ from MR. JO Floorkot HB?

A2. While both are high-performance coatings:

  • CMR offers superior chemical resistance
  • Slightly more durable in harsher environments
  • Recommended for chemical plants, labs, and process areas
Q3. What is the mix ratio?

A3. The system is mixed at 100:20 by weight (Resin : Hardener). Mix well to ensure uniform performance and curing.

Q4. What finish and color is available?

A4. It dries to a smooth, glossy finish and is usually offered in grey or other industrial tones. Custom colors may be possible for volume orders.

Q5. Is it self-leveling?

A5. No, CMR is a brush/roller-applied coating, not a self-leveling floor system.

Q6. What surface preparation is required?

A6.

  • Clean the surface of oil, dust, and loose particles
  • For concrete: mechanically grind or shot-blast
  • Prime with Mr. JO Primer-MVC, LVC, or UPS depending on substrate condition
Q7. How should it be applied?

A7.

  • Apply using a roller or brush
  • Typical application: 2 coats for full coverage and performance
  • Maintain a minimum of 8–12 hours between coats
Q8. What is the coverage per coat?

A8. Approximately 4–5 m²/kg/coat, depending on substrate condition and desired film thickness.

Q9. What is the pot life and cure time?

A9.

  • Pot life: 30–40 minutes at 25°C
  • Touch dry: 6–8 hours
  • Light traffic: 24 hours
  • Full cure & chemical resistance: 5–7 days
Q10. Can it be used as a topcoat over other systems?

A10. Yes — it can be used over epoxy screeds, self-leveling epoxy floors, or other compatible primers/coatings to improve surface durability and chemical resistance.

Q11. Can the floor be cleaned regularly with chemicals?

A11. Yes — CMR is designed to withstand frequent cleaning cycles and mild-to-moderate chemical exposure, including industrial cleaners and spills.

Q12. Will the coating yellow in sunlight?

A12. Like most epoxies, some discoloration may occur under UV light. For outdoor or sun-exposed areas, a UV-stable topcoat is recommended.

Q13. Is it slip-resistant?

A13. The finish is smooth by default. For anti-skid applications, you may:

  • Broadcast silica/quartz sand between coats
  • Use a non-slip top layer if required
Q14. Can MR. JO Protectokot-CMR be used for vertical surfaces or walls?

A14. Yes — it can be applied on vertical concrete or metal surfaces with a brush or roller, though thinner coats may be required to prevent sagging.

Q15. Can it be recoated or repaired later?

A15. Yes — sand the surface lightly, clean, and reapply CMR or a compatible topcoat.
