Description
JPOXY JH 1055 is a special hardener that is easy to use. It works well with JPOXY JR 3013 for things like primers, repair materials, grout, and floor coatings. Also, it dries quickly and sticks strongly. It’s simple to apply and lasts a long time. Additionally, this hardener is great for industrial and building jobs. You can trust JPOXY JH 1055 for tough tasks.
- EEW [g/eq] : 410-490
- Viscosity [mPa s] @ 25˚C : 350-750
- Color [Gardner] : ≤10
- Density @ 25˚C [g/cc] : 0.95-1.0
- Primer
- Injection grouting
- Modified low viscosity polyamide hardener
- Fast reactivity
A1. JH 1055 has a low viscosity and fast reactivity, making it ideal for applications where easy flow, deep penetration, and quick strength development are required.
Q2. What applications is it most suited for?A2.
- Primers (especially on concrete)
- Injection grouting into fine cracks
- Repair mortars and patching compounds
- Floor coatings requiring quick return to service
A3. While not specifically moisture-tolerant like some adducts, JH 1055 has moderate tolerance to surface moisture, especially when applied as a primer on sound, prepared concrete.
Q4. How does it compare to JH 1052 or JH 1053?A4.
- JH 1055: Low viscosity, fast cure, general-purpose use
- JH 1052: Higher viscosity, slightly slower reactivity
- JH 1053: Moisture-tolerant adduct, for wet/underwater applications
A5. Yes. Its low viscosity allows it to wet out quartz or silica fillers effectively, producing flowable or tampable repair mortars.
Q6. What is its typical pot life and cure time?A6. At 25°C (ambient):
- Pot life: ~20–25 minutes
- Tack-free time: ~4 hours
- Full cure: ~4–5 days Faster cure at higher temperatures.
A7. It is optimized for use with JPOXY JR 3013, but also works well with other liquid epoxy resins (EEW ~185–190).
Q8. Is it suitable for use in coatings that require high chemical resistance?A8. JH 1055 provides basic to moderate chemical resistance, but for high-end chemical or solvent resistance, consider aliphatic or cycloaliphatic hardeners like JH 1039 or JH 8347A.
Q9. Can it be used for flooring jobs?A9. Yes, especially for thin screeds, self-leveling primers, and where fast recoat or service is desired. Ensure adequate filler loading and substrate preparation.
Q10. Is it suitable for hot climates or tropical regions?A10. Yes. Its formulation is well-suited for warm and humid conditions, though adjustments in pot life or mix ratio may be required depending on ambient temperatures.
