Description

MR. JO Eco Underlay is a three-part epoxy system. It is solvent-free epoxy and is easy to use. Additionally, you can apply it under floor toppings and for bedding in construction. It spreads smoothly and sticks well. Also, it gives strong support for your floors. So, it is a smart choice for long-lasting work.

Surface Preparation 
  • Remove all dust and debris by physical and mechanical means, prior to application of the product. surfaces should be freed from laitance and dust by sand-blasting
  • In case sand-blasting is not possible, thorough abrading with a hard wire brush should be preferable.
Application Method 
  •  Repair the surface with MR. JO Tecseal - CRP if damaged. Allow 3-4 hours for surface of repaired area to dry.
  • Apply MR. JO Eco Primer-P50i for better adhesion on substrate. Allow 4-5 hours for surface of repaired area to dry. .
  • Mix all the three components provided in kit thoroughly for at least 2minutes. Apply the mix directly by pouring and spreading with the help of trowel.
  • Allow 4-5 hour for surface to dry and 24 hours to achieve strength.

Q1. What is MR. JO EcoUnderlay used for?

A1. It is a quick-drying epoxy underlayment system designed to level and prepare concrete surfaces before applying MR. JO EcoFloor (SLP, SLB, or SLS).

Q2. What’s the difference between MR. JO EcoUnderlay-iFLO and iTMP?

A2.

  • iFLO is a flowable version, ideal for 1–3 mm build-up and smoother leveling
  • iTMP is a tampable version, best for 4–6 mm thickness or slope correction using manual compaction

Q5. Do I need pigment for MR JO. EcoUnderlay?

A5. No. It comes in a neutral reddish-brown translucent tone and is not intended to be pigmented.

Q6. What is the recommended primer before using MR. JO EcoUnderlay?

A6. Use MR. JO EcoPrimer, which is also fast-drying and ensures optimal bonding. For damp or difficult surfaces, MR. JO Primer-UPS may be used.

Q7. What is the pot life and working time?

A7. Approx. 20–30 minutes at 25°C, depending on batch size and temperature.

Q8. How soon can I apply the topcoat?

A8. You can apply MR. JO EcoFloor or other compatible epoxy systems after 6–8 hours, or once the underlay is firm and touch dry.

Q9. Can I mix part quantities or use other fillers?

A9. It is supplied as pre-proportioned 3-component kits for consistent performance. Site mixing or filler changes are not recommended.

Q10. Can I broadcast sand on the surface of the underlay?

A10. Yes — especially useful if a non-epoxy overlay is to be done, such as tile adhesives or mortar. Do so while the underlay is still tacky.

Q11. Can it be left exposed temporarily?

A11. While it’s not meant to be a final coat, short-term exposure is acceptable. Always overcoat for chemical or wear protection.

Q12. Is it moisture-tolerant or waterproof?

A12. It tolerates slightly damp substrates when applied over the correct primer, but it is not a waterproofing layer. For that, consider using MR. JO Teckot-RTU or MR. JO Protectokot-BLK.

Q13. Can I use Eco Underlay for patch repairs? A13. Minor patches are possible, but for deeper cracks or potholes, use MR. JO Tecseal-CRP for better filling before applying the underlay.
